The Infantilization of German Foreign Policy: Ambassador to Ukraine Poses with Plush Leopard Tank
Anka Feldhusen takes the cake with her tweet and secures the crown in the ranks of German political clowns.
»At the end of a long and busy day with my new favorite toy, given to me today by a wonderful mayor of a town under Russian occupation a year ago. #StandWithUkraine«
This was tweeted by the German Ambassador to Ukraine, Anka Feldhusen, on March 22. You can’t make this stuff up: a top diplomat of the Federal Republic of Germany poses with a plush model of a German-made battle tank that will be killing people in the near future, and blatantly refers to it as her “favorite toy.”
The shitstorm wasn’t long in coming. Most comments ranged from pretty disgusted to not suitable for minors. Just a few excerpts - in words and pictures (I left out the really bad ones):
“A moral declaration of bankruptcy that can hardly be surpassed in terms of embarrassment. This woman is the German ambassador to Ukraine?? You can’t eat as much as you want to puke. By the way, the lady’s absent-minded facial expression fits perfectly.”
“Wow! Impressive insight into the deepest human abyss: a heavy weapon that kills people is merely a “new favorite toy” for you. Shame on you.”
Maybe Anka should team up with Rihanna for her upcoming world tour:
Uschi and Olaf would certainly make a great tank crew:
But enough humor now, the matter is anything but funny - especially when you consider that this was by no means Ambassador Feldhusen’s only diplomatic misstep.
On February 26, 2023, she tweeted the following in Ukrainian(!):
»A Russian tank in Berlin in front of the Russian Embassy. This is how all tanks that encroach on freedom should look like. I am grateful to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for defending Europe and bringing the aggressor’s weapons into proper condition!«
It is outrageous how a top German diplomat wishes death to Russian soldiers and also spreads the utter nonsense that Ukraine’s armed forces are defending Europe against Russia.
And in general, the lady seems to have a certain obsession with tanks. So does the Ukrainian defense minister, as shown by a March 29 finanznachrichten.de story headlined “Ukrainian defense minister praises Marder infantry fighting vehicle.”
KIEV (dpa-AFX) - Ukrainian Defense Minister Olexiy Resnikov has praised the Marder infantry fighting vehicles from Germany in a video. “The Marder is an excellent example of German quality,” the 56-year-old wrote on the short message service Twitter on Wednesday. The weapon will increase Ukrainian chances of defeating Russia, the attached video said. There, the minister showed how he drove several rounds on a muddy training ground.
“I’m looking forward to taming leopards soon. I love the way they roar!” added Resnikov, inviting German Ambassador Anka Feldhusen for a test drive. Resnikov had already tested Leopard 2 tanks delivered from Poland after they arrived in Ukraine in February. Then, on Monday, the completed delivery of 18 Leopard 2s from Germany to Ukraine was also confirmed. [emphasis mine; video link added]
Whether she then really went a few rounds with Resnikov, ...er the Leopard, cannot be verified.
With all this enthusiasm from the tank-loving ambassador, I wonder why she hasn’t long since set off with her boss Annalena in a cozy Leo 2 toward the front to chase the evil Putler back into the Russian Empire. Or would it be better to let the numerous Nazis in Ukraine do it – When they are actually not protesting?
